Experiencing the same exact thing with need to re-install third party components (JCL/JVLC, ICS, etc.) after Delphi 10.1 Berlin Update 2 install and wrong update details on about box. Delphi 10.1 Berlin Update 2 install performed through the web installer (not the ISO) making sure to NOT remove existing registry entries.

That was not my experience. I think you have to choose to NOT delete the registry entries.. I used the ISO however, so I don't know if there is a difference between it and the web installer
Installed Updates: Delphi 10.1 Berlin and C++ Builder 10.1 Berlin Update 1
Shouldn't it be Berlin update 2?

That option is only shown if you previously did a ISO installation. A web install clears everything when it is uninstalled (hopefully update 2 allows for preserving settings when it is uninstalled). To preserve settings for a web-install you could use regedit to export its registry key, uninstall berlin, then apply the exported registry file before installing the new version. Just make sure to select (at least) the same components as in the previous install, otherwise it is likely it'll complain about missing packages and whatnot. That is no problem. They were probably not updated from the internal bug system yet. I guess that will happen anytime soon. -- Rudy Velthuis http://www.rvelthuis.de 'If I held you any closer I would be on the other side of you.' -- Groucho Marx

Yes, I just ran the ISO image burnt to a DL DVD ( I checked the MD5 hash beforehand). I had C++ builder XE10.1 Berlin update 1 installed which I un-installed before attempting Update2. Update2 ran but reported no disk space when there is 711 GB of unused disk space on Drive C. I was running Update 2 from an external DVD player as my PC doesn't have a DVD Driver ( Dell Precision workstation 7710). I am in the process of copying the Update2 DVD to a folder on the C: drive and will try running it from there. The O/S is windows 7 professional 64 bit Service pack 1.

Do you have an ISO mounting utility on your computer? If not, you might want to check this out:

In Windows 10, you can mount an ISO as a DVD drive (finally, MacOS has had it for years)

It's also available in Windows since Windows XP (ok it was an additional download from Microsoft - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=38780). Windows 8 was the first version to support it.

It was already bult in Windows 8. The implementation has a minor bug in 8.1 after you select mount an error message appears: (of course the ISO is mounted, so I have no idea why the error is displayed.)

Try installing it as Administrator and disabling any virus scanner. I did that and did not get that error (although did using the iso to uninstall the previous install and I did not do those two things). -- Jeff Overcash (TeamB) (Please do not email me directly unless asked. Ok, the mistake that I made was that when presented with the 'Upgrade, Modify, or Uninstall' choices, I chose to 'Modify'. This hosed the existing Berlin installation completely. I had to uninstall what was left over after that debacle, and then rerun the installation, choosing 'Upgrade' instead. That installed Update 2, and much to my suprise I found my previous settings from Berlin to be intact! Oh, and I installed by mounting the ISO to the CD-ROM drive of my VM, and running Setup.exe. YMMV

FWIW, unistalled DevExpress, GExperts and upd1 first, installed UP2 using ISO, reinstalled GExperts and DevExpress, I'd say the whole process took less than 2 hours. I'm using it for about 4 hours now, everything running smoothly so far. Kind Regards, Marco Sangali

If you uninstalled the previous version and then installed the update there is no licensing check. Your licensing information is not removed for the uninstall. If you did not have to put in your SN again then the licensing was already there and that was used during the install. -- Jeff Overcash (TeamB) (Please do not email me directly unless asked. Well, it installed..without restoring the settings, just like update 1 (web install). I used the migration tool to restore the settings (everything selected), but that tool didn't really do anything except setting the colors to what they were. Thankfully I had a reg.backup of just about all settings..except the ordering of the component list. I'm not sure where to obtain that one because even restoring the package and palette cache keys didn't change the ordering.

No problems here, but I did an uninstall then an install, I did not try to modify. That's how I did: - I directly started to install from ISO without uninstalling existing Berlin installation. - ISO installer tried to uninstall existing Berlin installation first. - Installer finished installing Berlin with no problem, but I noticed that my copy of Berlin is not upgraded at all. It was still showing 'Update 1'. - I uninstalled Berlin manually and installed it from ISO again. -This time Berlin was updated, but XE7 was gone! This happened on two PCs.
